Congratulations to George Zhang (taught by Elena Berman), 7 years old, who competed in the Dorothy Sutton Festival and received a Superior Rating Award for his outstanding level of performance! He will advance to the state level.
Pianist Chris Jung (taught by Dr. Igor Resnianski), age 17, winner of the 2019 New Orleans Piano Institute Concerto Competition, performed Piano Concerto No. 1 by Prokofiev with the New Orleans Civic Symphony in New Orleans on October 13, 2019!
Pianists Isabella Florendo (taught by Dr. Anna Kislitsyna & Marianna Prjevalskaya) and Andy Wu (taught by Dr. Igor Resnianski) were both invited to perform at Temple Performing Arts Center in Philadelphia as part of the ‘One World Concert’ presented by Harmony for Peace on November 2, 2019.
Pianist Anastasia Kudina, a student of Dr. Igor Resnianski, was awarded 3rd Prize in the 2019 New Jersey State Young Musicians Competition, NJMTA!
Congratulations to Isabella Florendo and Andrew Yu, both students of Dr. Anna Kislitsyna, for their performances at the IV Gershwin International Music Competition in New York! Isabella won 1st prize and Andrew won 2nd in the Young Artists category.
Congratulations to Michael Zhou and Sophia Ma for their recent success at the Triumph Music Festival! The competition and festival took place on Saturday, September 28th at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.
Michael Zhou, Grand Prix winner of Chopin Prize in the Intermediate Division (ages 14-17) at Triumph Music Festival. His competition-winning performance from June earned him the opportunity to performance at the Festival in September. Michael studies at the Nelly Berman School with Dr. Anna Kislitsyna.
Sophia Ma competed in September and placed first in the Young Musicians Division (ages 5-9) she is also a student of Dr. Anna Kislitsyna at the Nelly Berman School. Sophia looks so happy with her prize – it is a well-deserved accomplishment thanks to her continuous hard-work!
Congratulations to Nelly Berman School violin student Shloka Bhattacharyya on recently earning the concertmaster chair in the Philadelphia Region Youth String Music (PRYSM) Orchestra!! Shloka is a violin student on scholarship at the Nelly Berman School. We look forward to hearing her continued progress, and she can be seen throughout the 2019-2020 PRYSM in their performances at the Haverford School in Haverford, PA and more.
