On Wednesday, July 21st, the school celebrated its first Founder’s Day at the Nelly Berman School of Music, to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Nelly Berman. Festivities included an Instrument Petting Zoo from
3:00-4:30pm and a Social Hour from 4:30-6:00pm.
Families and children got to experience the magic of our Instrument Petting Zoo and had fun seeing, touching and feeling instruments including the violin, cello, clarinet, and French horn! Teachers Joe Dvorak (clarinet), Dan Hull (guitar), Ethan Lee (jazz piano), Irina Schuck (violin), and Frank Stroble (French horn) were on hand to play their instruments and answer questions.
Families then joined us for some snacks and light refreshments and played lawn games once the sun came back out! Nelly Berman Classical Music Institute Board Members Ella Vuernick (Secretary) and Janene Montlouis (Treasurer) were also in attendance, as was International Ballet Theatre Academy owner and Celebration of the Arts event partner Jaelyn Grigoli.
Founder’s Day was a wonderful event – and such a treat to hear so much laughter and music in our school halls after a year and a half of silence – and we look forward to holding it again next year!
