What are Performance Classes?
Every Saturday the NBS holds a performance class in the Recital Room (3 per month for piano students, 1 for string/wind/brass students.) Each student in the class performs the piece they have been working on in front of the other students and receives valuable feedback from NBS faculty as well as their peers! Friends and family are welcome to attend to see the students perform. The ability to play in performance classes is included in you registration fee, so they are free to attend!
Our plethora of performance opportunities is one of the things that makes the Nelly Berman School so unique!
Piano Accompaniment (For Instrumentalists): Instrumentalist students (wind/brass/string) must play with an accompanist if their piece is written with piano accompaniment. They must also have a rehearsal before the performance class.
Accompanist Fees: The accompanist’s rehearsal rate, as well as the accompanist fee for the day of the performance, are NOT included in the registration fee, and will be charged to your invoice. These rates depend on the accompanist, the length of the rehearsal, and the difficulty of the piece.
Guests / Prospective Students Welcome!
Performance classes are a great showcase of the musical dedication and talent that we nurture at the Nelly Berman School of Music. Prospective students and their parents are welcome to come and listen!
Please send us an email at office@nbsmusic.com to let us know that you are interested in attending a performance class, and which date you would like to attend.
