Some of our students have won very prestigious competitions within the last two months:

Congratulations to Chris Jung, who recently won the 3rd prize award in the Festival “Musica in Laguna”, International Solo Competition, Italy, Chris’s participation in this trip was thanks to Global Music Partnership; Chris was a winner of GMP International Competition “ 2019 Young Talents World Festival of Performing and Visual Arts”, and was selected to go to Venice by one of our International judges. Chris was also selected as the First place award winner in the Senior Piano Division of the Tri-County Youth Festival.

Several other Nelly Berman School Students also won prizes at the Global Music Partnerships 2019 Young Talents World Festival of Performing and Visual Arts – Congratulations to all!

Children’s Division 1

  • 1st Prize – Iris Joh, piano (NJ) – Special Award – $50 Cash Award

Children’s Division 2

  • 1st Prize – Gina Park, piano (NJ) – Special Awards – Solo Performance with the Gloria Youth Orchestra in 2019-2020 season; Cash Award
  • 2nd Prize – Isaac Joh, piano (NJ) – Special Awards – Solo Performance with the Gloria Youth Orchestra in 2019-2020 season; Cash Award

Junior Division

  • 3d Prize – Sivani Srinivasan, violin (PA) – Special Award: 50% Tuition Scholarship covering master classes & concerts, 50% Board and Meal Award to participate at the Seoul International Music Camp Festival in Seoul, South Korea in August 2019.

Alyssa Gabrilovich has had much competition success this year – she was recently selected as the 2nd Prize Winner at the 2019 Kaufman Music Center International Youth Piano Competition. Alyssa was also invited to participate in the live round of the 2019 International e-piano Junior Competition at the University of Minnesota. Congratulations!

Bridget Xu won First Place with her string trio in the Senior division of the Tri-County 77th Annual Youth Festival.

Bowen Ying tied for First Place in the Senior Strings division at the Tri-County 77th Annual Youth Festival.

Michael Zhou was invited to play on the “Kids on Keys” radio program in New Jersey.

Andy Wu and Isabella Florendo got the Peace Ambassador Award and Rachel Wang got the First prize for Harmony for Peace Foundation Competition!
