Born in Odessa, to a family of accomplished Ukrainian musicians, Tatyana Mykhaylova began playing piano when she was five years old. Her mother, and first teacher, was Professor Natalia Mykhaylova, a concert pianist and famed professor at Odessa Nezhdanova Music Academy. Tatyana attended the renowned Odessa Stoliarsky Music School for gifted children, where she performed regularly at their concerts and festivals.
She received her Master’s degree in Piano Performance, graduating with distinctions, from the Odessa Nezhdanova Music Academy where she studied with Professors Evelina Kovalenko and Natalia Mykhaylova. In addition to receiving her Master’s degree in Piano Performance, Ms. Mykhaylova also received her Associate degree in Vocal Performance from Odessa Nezhdanova Music Academy. Ms. Mykhaylova has taught voice at the Odessa Dancevich Music College as well as served as an accompanist for the vocal and string departments.
Prior to her arrival in the United States, Ms. Mykhaylova served as a piano teacher as well as an accompanist, and chamber ensemble member in the Odessa Nezhdanova Music Academy. She also performed as a soloist and as an accompanist at the Philharmonic Hall in Odessa. She has performed in Ukraine, Russia and Poland. Her students have performed and taught at the highest academic levels at universities in China as well as Ukraine.
Ms. Mykhaylova successfully prepares students for various competitions and festivals. She was awarded numerous Certificates of Excellence. Ms. Mykhaylova accompanied her voice students at the concerts and winner recitals including recitals at the Weill Recital Hall at New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Perelman Hall at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center.
