The Nelly Berman School of Music offers unique summer camps every summer that focus on different musical historical periods through the study of different composers and their styles, and music theory of the period. Students perform in chamber groups and sing in a choir. The camps have a 25 maximum participants, ensuring individual attention to each camper and their achievements. Last year, campers visited the Barnes Foundation, attended two faculty recitals, and put on an end-of-the-week performance.
Camp 2019, Baroque and Beyond will focus on Baroque music, covering 16th through 18th century composers, with students having lessons on both piano and harpsichord.
Camp 2019, 5 Eras in 5 Days will focus on five musical periods from Baroque through Modern, covering one period per day.
For current NBS students, each week of camp will be $500 per student, with individual lessons additionally priced. For non-NBS students, each week of camp is $680, which includes two hour-long lessons to be scheduled during the week of camp. Scholarships are available!
